So he said his crimes against America were so severe it could warrant the death penalty, which would be a legal process decided by a court of law. He didn’t say people should go out and take it upon themselves to execute him. The word twisting makes it sound so much worse than what was actually said.

For what it’s worth, the public execution quote was in the context of executing convicted pedophiles and rapists. I for one can see merit in that argument as a preventative measure to scare future offenders.
