Originally it was mostly no aid to Central America because it kicked off with the border crisis under Biden. It also aligned with the MAGA idea of Trump’s first term of no foreign wars. However aside from niche ultra right circles within the AF movement there was little dialogue about Israel. Interesting to see no aid to Israel finally become a mainstream point for progressive dems. All that is a result to Israel’s actions following Oct 7 and happens to align with some AF dialogue

The reason it wasn’t talked about it a lot was because Israel was/is popular with the vast majority of conservatives. He bided his time until well after Oct 7th when public opinion on Israel, especially among young conservatives, flipped. Was it as spoken about as it is right now? No, but it was always a feature.

Yeah historically MAGA is very interesting when it comes to Israel, it was either very strong support or straight up antisemitism within the coalition
