I am begging you to read a book. What do you think happened to the parties after the civil rights act was signed into law?

This is such a stupid post im the original OP. I’m not defending republicans or what they think. I’m just saying there’s a problem with illegal immigrants being let in because it benefits the corporations 100% similar to slaves because they don’t pay them a required wage. Maybe stop strawmanning my argument and focus on what it says.

I am focusing on what it says… which is fundamentally incorrect. In your context, you’re painting it as if it’s the same party, and it’s not. All that aside, there’s still a massive difference between forced slavery and allowing people to come into the country and work under those conditions on their own volition. It was an ignorant post all in all.

It’s also entirely lacking nuance. Dems want those working conditions and pay to improve, but republicans don’t because it takes away from the multi-million dollar CEO bonuses who are profiting off that cheap labor. Dems also want a better route to documented immigration, republicans would rather round them up and cry about the economic consequences of their actions later.

It’s not painting parties is the same. It’s painting the concepts as the same sorry I have a problem with people coming to work to get paid below minimum wage, which is completely illegal with worse working conditions that also takes jobs away from Americans and brings the wages down it’s basically modern day slavery.

If Democrats wanted better working conditions and pay to improve, why would they allow illegal immigrants who which they have zero jurisdiction over it simply benefits the corporations and not the people because corporations are allowed to hire people with bad working conditions and low wages. Republicans want companies to pay real wages, which would actually take their profits so you’re completely wrong.

No Republicans just want the immigration process to be fair my family immigrated from across the world. Why is it fair that the southern border people get to be cutting the line while my parents and family waited in line patiently.

What? You do understand undocumented immigrants contribute massively to our social security system without getting anything out of it, right? It absolutely does benefit the people. Obviously, I don’t agree with subjecting anyone to conditions like that, but to say it only benefits corporations is objectively incorrect.

That’s irrelevant to me slaves also benefited to people’s Social Security system and the economy in general. Does that mean having slaves was a good thing maybe as Americans we should take losing Social Security system so that way we just don’t have modern slavery in our country

And you’re not thinking about the bigger picture here. Just because YOU got through the process doesn’t mean everyone is able to so seamlessly. A good chunk of undocumented immigrants did enter the country legally, but their temporary legal status expired due to egregious wait times and a failing immigration system.

That’s not true if you wait in the immigration process for citizenship, you can’t just enter the country before you receive it. You have to get a vetted otherwise you’re on a temporary visitation as if you’re going on vacation here it’s the same as going to another country like Japan you can enter and they give you a stamp for a certain amount of days.
