Like the only other profession I’ve ever heard of a hair test for is aviation, which makes sense since it’s DOT. It’s not like a real estate agent is gonna kill a plane full of people if they smoked on their day off or something 😭

One time a restaurant included drug testing as part of their contract and I was like “no fucking way they’re gonna drug testing me for a job in foodservice” and lo and behold, they did not. I think restaurants should fire you if you’re not on anything at all. If you’re working at a restaurant and not even smoking a little weed, there’s something seriously wrong with you.

LMFAO I work in the news and it is a hellscape. One thing a coworker said that stuck with me was that if they drug tested in our profession, there would be no journalists to work anymore because everyone is on something to function. Usually Adderall or weed

Personally unless you’re working in DOT I think you should only be drug tested if you show up to work visibly under the influence of something to the point that it’s negatively affecting your work or your coworkers

this is sooo real. i got my nicotine habit from working at a restaurant. evb else was genuinely drunk or doing lines in the bathroom. its not great but…we were top in the region lmao its just par for the course
