They don’t give a fuck about you, they never have and they never well. To them you are just an inconvenience that they need to deal with in order to increase their profit margins. And “deal with” can mean anything from “pay for their labor” to “manipulate into accepting borderline slave wages” to “murder so they don’t create a labor union”.

Or the most common one “use every trick to make them psychologically and physically addicted to our product without getting in legal trouble for it.” And then they still lobby to roll back the few legal limits they have.
