This is just another flavor of pandemic denialism. Newsflash you absolute moron, lockdowns are one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of highly transmissible airborne disease. There is literally no better prevention tactic than social distancing. “Aren’t patriotic enough”? Yeah it’s fucking hard to be patriotic when a quarter of the country voted for a corrupt pedophile and we’re still propping up a genocidal entity in the Middle East for our own gain. The left doesn’t want you.
And I get suspicious about Covid lockdowns when the left and healthcare workers encouraged protests for George Floyd when so many things that are essential to happiness of people especially the youth were still closed. They even said racism was a bigger public health crisis then Covid which totally makes me question the severity of Covid with comments like that
Also isn’t this shit about everyone from a nation being responsible the same shit that is used to excuse the atrocity that is 9/11? 9/11 happened because of American support for Israel’s actions. Random office workers didn’t deserve to be killed for that, and neither do random Palestinians. But you are choosing that collective responsibility applies but just for brown people.
Israel is why Hamas is in power. Israel created Hamas. First by displacing Palestinians in the Nakba, then by colonizing the West Bank causing to the PLO losing the support of Palestinians, then by funneling Qatari money to Hamas to keep them in power and prevent the creation of a unified moderate Palestinian state.
Not sure if you saw literally any of the images from those protests, but the vast majority of people were wearing masks. Being outside is also fundamentally different to being inside because aerosols diffuse from airflow instead of remaining stagnant in the air. This is basic knowledge ffs
“Draconian” oh come on, stop victimizing yourself when 20 million people died. I went outside to plenty of parks and around my neighborhood, no idea why people couldn’t just be doing that. Actually, plenty of people did, it just seems like you didn’t. And I say this as someone who had dogshit mental health in 2020, whose parent was a first aid worker and had multiple family friends die from COVID. Neither you nor I are the victims here
You’re delusional man. I don’t know what else to say. There is video of Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck and preventing him from breathing over a span of minutes. January 6 was a failed insurrection attempt by MAGA. No one can help you or engage in productive discussion if your reality is this warped
Studies have shown that the lockdowns did nothing much to stop the death rate it was all security theater and a violation of so many people’s rights. I used to be more left leaning before the pandemic but saw the hypocrisy that it was okay to mass gather and cause destruction but so many other gatherings were frowned upon by the left
I can show you the hypocrisy because there were protests “outside” against lockdowns but the left and healthcare workers condemned those protests for get this fear of spreading Covid. But when it’s regarding racism those condemnations from healthcare workers and the left went away
Yet another bad faith argument. I’d rather abstain from visiting my family than endanger their health. I’m lucky I live with my grandparents so I wasn’t prevented from visiting them, but that meant staying extra cautious to keep them safe. The people protesting were a tiny fraction of the people adhering to lockdown
Maybe you don’t understand this, but there’s a such thing as weighing pros versus cons. The immediate threat of police brutality towards the black community was greater than the risk of contracting COVID outdoors in that moment. The BLM protests followed a rash of unwarranted police violence against young black individuals resulting in death. George Floyd’s death was just the straw that broke the camel’s back
Because 250000 white British girls racially and religiously selected is not nothing. Policy that explicitly treats white peoples differently which is why Nowak died was also present, and the current cultural and ethnic wiping of those people is incomparably horrid to whatever systemic problem to what you’re talking about.
Going to be honest, as a woman who’s lived in America her whole life, I feel pretty routinely unsettled around random men and have been sexually harassed plenty of times by absolute strangers and “friends”/relatives alike. You have to stop pretending misogyny isn’t an incredibly prevalent thing everywhere. I do not feel any safer around white male citizens than I do male immigrants.
