Genuine question:
Is breaking up (corporate) monopolies part of the free market?

Same republicans when the government bails out big corporations and lets billionaires do insider trading, Ponzi schemes, rug pulls, tax evasion, etc.

Corporations in the Us don’t do tax evasion, it stems from the fact we r the only country that taxes corporate profits make in other countries

Not only that they also make accounting firms cook their books to make it look like they have money when they’re embezzling, this led to one of the largest energy companies in the country ceasing to exist

The most effective was to prevent monopolies is to have free trade and not have rent seeking regulations

For example the Sherman antitrust legislation, is that free market? It seems to be directly opposed to it in order to create competition.
I guess it depends on if “free” means no government interference or if “free” means anyone can be a competitor

I would argue that in certain circumstances Gov intervention to stop anti competitive practices would be pro free market, how in some cases Gov intervention creates monopolies, like with trade restrictions and rent seeking regulation
