You forget the part where their leaders are convinced that letting Israel do whatever it wants will lead to Armageddon and the rapture, so we have to keep that budget up because how else is Israel supposed to defend itself

Even the demons know Jesus is God, yet they aren’t saved because they haven’t turned from their sin (repentance). We are called to follow his teachings and become more like Christ. Within an ideal Christian society, the Church is supposed to be the institution that provides charity for the poor but the state replaced the church’s role with welfare systems. Christians do care strongly for the less fortunate but oftentimes don’t view that as a role of the government.
