Idk, I have a feeling the nuns arent particularly big on “women must marry, have kids, and submit to their husband”, or “men must work to support a household and a wife”, or given the communal life, capitalistic economic policy in general.

I don’t think you realize how conservative nuns are. They enter the religious life because they personally don’t feel called to the exact things you mentioned.

Plus, just about the only people becoming Priests and nuns nowadays are heavily skewed in a conservative direction

I have seen the data, I think for priests it’s now below 10% that identify as liberal (though it may be less) where the rest all identify as conservative. My experience irl is anecdotal but after interacting with a large number of priests and nuns it definitely seems to back up the numbers

Interesting, thats for Catholics I presume? These are Orthodox folks, and I couldnt find any data on it, and while there is a lot of conservative news about it, but it seems more mixed. Like there was a high up leader who marched with MLK, and the current leader of the Greek Orthodox writes encyclicals about protecting the environment, while ofc the Russian Patriarch is doing….yeah. Its not nearly as straight forward as Catholicism
