Eh I give them points for trying. Most countries aren’t even aiming at a proper target and wonder why they keep shooting themselves in the foot. Like my whole family is Ukrainian. I’m Ukrainian. Not a huge fan of Putin or Zelensky, but I’m baffled by how is it Russia and China, of all the countries that appear to be leading the charge on a Christian spring, go figure it’s in the two places that experienced some of the most corrupt tyranny historically. Sort of a must exist in the darkness 1/
Or, on the contrary: Maybe that’s the result of putting religion over reason. Maybe the poverty and tyranny are caused by the church, like they were for all of the middle ages. The church and organized religion more generally has become a justification for the abuses of power since at least the death of St. Peter
… the church in the Middle Ages is the only reason why we retained literature/literacy. China and Russia both nearly collapsed shortly after, separate time periods, they destroyed their religious institutions. Are you just saying things you want to be right cuz that made absolutely no sense?
