Here’s my solution to the immigration issue as a conservative: 1. Keep border secure to prevent people from crossing illegally 2. Only deport undocumented migrants who have committed felonies 3. Grant those already here opportunities to get citizenship

4. Those here illegally but not committing any crimes would be required to gain citizenship and prove reasonable progress towards it every 6 months 5. Make it more accessible for refugees to seek asylum in the US

It’s worth noting that in them name of balance and opportunity for all, work backwards on expanding affordable housing within the country. Rent control is a last resort. Fix up zoning and strip private equity companies of their millions of empty houses.

If we’re gonna deport anyone we should start with the ppl who want our resources towards other countries wars

This seems.. acceptable… what’s the catch? Also I feel deportation shouldn’t really be used as a punishment but that’s mostly because if an undocumented person robs a bank or something they should go to prison not just back to their mom’s house.

that’s pretty reasonable, wish conservative politicians thought like this

Nah we should deport all undocumented migrants not just ones who commit felonies, we should also grant less citizenship

We could create so many jobs with infrastructure projects, we’d need large labor pools. Easier work visas would be great for everyone. Push high school kids towards electrical line work and road construction the same way military recruiters come to the public schools. Balance both ways at least.

Do you know the history of this country?

What makes it balance and not just compromise is the deliberate creation of equity of opportunity.

And most of this country was historically Mexico, once upon a time.

How did they lose so much territory so quickly?

Because we beat the shit out of them and later priced average Mexicans out of owning businesses in Mexico with our own. 180 years later, still makes a handful of people a lot of money.

You could’ve just said we beat the shit out of them and left it at that, I loved that part of your answer

Funny, Mexico was never once mentioned in OPs post but you immediately jumped to Mexicans when talking about illegal immigration. Say, how would you treat a Canadian who was here illegally
