Commented in ads? My guess is that they're joking about it possibly being bought by Israel?

I’ve personally met and have gotten to know about 30-40 people from Israel throughout my life and all of them with the exception of one (she’s a storytime) have been very kind, far from immoral and terrible

I don’t doubt it. I too know Israelis have been very personally kind. However the average Israeli believes that every Jew is superior to every non-Jew. I went to 14 years of Catholic school and we revere Jesus, who was Jewish, and had to learn extensively about Judaism and even learned Hebrew. Zionism and the acts done in Zionism for the past 50 years are also a massive point of contention.

Without generalizing too much, many Israelis proudly serve in the IDF and some gloat about how they have killed some people, an even smaller minority gloat about having killed children. Excuse me for not wanting to celebrate the death of anyone, let alone a 12 year old Hamas operative. Terrorists are terrorists, but children are also children. “Love from Israel” is a silly little joke making fun of specifically THOSE people, not Israelis as a whole.

As a Jew who has spent their entire life getting to know other Jews across Reform, Conservative and Orthodox communities I can tell you that is total bs. There is probably a small minority of Jews who believe that, just like there is a small minority of Christians who believe you deserve Hell if you don’t believe in Christ and a small minority of Muslims who believe you should be killed if you don’t believe in the Quran.

I should’ve explained myself better that it is widely misconstrued from Yevamot I think that many Jews consider non-Jews as less than human or not worthy of being repaid. I believe Meiri popularized this which then again became popularized during periods of antisemitism. But people don’t care if this isn’t true and if it is debunked that the rest of the Talmud says to treat non-Jews with respect and grace, because people typically don’t care about religions that don’t pertain to their own

The Talmud isn’t necessarily Jewish law, but it’s a record of debates. Basically, it’s the original Reddit.

“Love from Israel” is in poor taste as are many jokes on the internet. Take offense to it if you would like, but it is a direct reaction to how the israeli government is acting in this very moment. Many young people on the internet don’t care to align themselves with a government who does this and people who accept it (there’s nuance, to this but yk people are idiots
