Wasn’t following tonight’s results because I was getting hammered at the Phillies game. But I hate that I now belong to a party that deepthroats whatever Trump says even when it means tossing aside constitution respecting politicians like Massie 😒

You don’t have to continue to belong to that party

It was a fascist party when you joined it, they’re just taking the mask off now

My state is not having any major elections this November. I think I’m sitting this year out. As for future years, we’ll see. Maybe libertarian or a another 3rd party, but I’m never voting democrat

Dude be so fr. You don’t actually care about standing up to Trump if you’re still gonna default to the party whose only platform is now supporting him no matter what. The Republican Party is the trump party now. And if you actually care about democracy you need to recognize the democrats are the better choice.

Standing up to democracy is the party that chose their nominee without a primary?

The harris nomination occurred under very, very special circumstances

If your go to terrible example of the dems being “anti-democracy” was a candidate dropping out after winning the primary, that obviously shows they’re better than the republicans. Who attempted to overturn the 2020 election and are now giving over a billion dollars to their supporters who attempted to invade the capital. A in-party primary is pretty small potatoes in comparison to a coup attempt.

And I’m not a fan of the dems. I’m a socialist for fucks sake. I think they’re a bunch of wishy washy centrists. But they aren’t fascists. And if you can’t bring yourself to support the wishy washy centrists then you aren’t willing to stand up to the magas.

Like the magas are stuck in a cult. But you aren’t. You should know better. You know how terrible they are but still think the milktoast libs are too bad and scary.

All do respect, just because I don’t like how far right my party has become doesn’t mean I’m willing to go far left to stop it

I don’t know how to break this to you but the democrats are center to center left. Republicans have lied to you about what being far left is. Liberals aren’t far left. The democrats are politically equivalent to the center-right parties in many countries. The Republican pundits just call anyone left of Mussolini a communist, and you believe it.

Like dude even the right wing parties in most European countries still support a socialized healthcare system. The dems aren’t even on board with that.

If you have enough critical thinking to be anti-maga, surely you can do a bit of reading and realize that milktoast liberals aren’t far left.

Look, you’re not maga, that’s like the bare minimum. But if you aren’t willing to do anything to stop them because you’re too scared of the leftist boogeyman, don’t expect any cudos. Being against the undermining of democracy doesn’t mean much if you won’t take any action.

I don’t want your kudos, dude. Am I not allowed to merely express dissatisfaction with some members of my preferred party?

Expressing dissatisfaction with people throwing away the constitution doesn’t mean much if it results in no positive action. Before you could at least say people like Massie represented the true Republican Party. But they’re gone now. Now they’re called fakes and the voters don’t support them.

Like cool I get the principle but if you are still too scared of John Normielib to vote against the authoritarians, I don’t think your convictions are deeply held.
