If you’ve read the Politics you’d know this argument is diabolical actually - Aristotle was a big believer in natural hierarchy (woman inherently subservient to men, slaves inherently subservient to enslavers, etc) an argument that conveniently justified his position in Greek society as a male head-of-household who owned both his wife and his slaves (slavery under condition of poverty, crime, conquest, or being descended from someone enslaved for these reasons)
