That is NOT what I said, I’m asking you why you feel it’s such a big deal that it needs its own federal agency as opposed to a single branch. Child trafficking, white collar crime, and serial killers are all handled by the fbi but a guy without his passport gets a separate chunk of tax money?

You are correct there is some overlap, however most of this agencies have their own specific angle that they follow. For example the irs mainly focuses on tax related crime and can assist the fbi in catching someone through that angle but they don’t directly go after someone for like identity theft or embezzlement. The fbi does that. Whenever ICE does something actually meaningful they always need help from someone with actual experience in something other than putting children in cages.

To be fair, current ice has already established itself as a racist organization. A lot of their false arrests are of Hispanic or black people.

Plus they’ve been seen specifically targeting locations with a higher population of Hispanic people.

What exactly makes this something that can’t be don’t by literally any other division of the federal government such as the FBI, DHS, etc. a lot of human trafficking cases are also immigration cases so the fbi already handles the important ones. It seems like I’m paying money just for the government to bully the destitute.
