Dude I’m sorry but this is exactly what trumps team wanted when they set their editors loose on the files. I don’t give a fuck about Clinton, never have. I’m sure he’s corrupt like most politicians are. But while there is pretty solid evidence that Clinton and Obama and the like are corrupt, there’s nothing pointing to them being literal pedophiles. Lots of people knew Epstein and hung on with him

The whole point with this release of the files was to trivialize pedophilia through shock and make it seem like something that lots of people are doing. In reality it’s much more likely that a very small group of people are actual pedophiles and more are protecting them or ignoring them or uninvolved entirely. We should care which of those camps certain politicians belong to. If we don’t care to differentiate then truth looses meaning

I have plenty of criticism for democrats like I do for republicans but conflating pedophilia with corruption helps no one. Again, lots of people knew Epstein and spent time with him. Does that mean they’re pedophiles? Maybe it should matter a bit whether someone is a pedophile or not before we start throwing the word around?

I mean trump has done plenty to point to him being a pedophile. Look at his history of rape, rhetoric around rape, misconduct at beauty pageants…etc in addition to his ties to Epstein. What do you have to point to Clinton being a pedophile instead of a corrupt politician who had affairs with adult women? Both are worthy of condemnation but they’re clearly not the same thing

This is the issue I’m talking about! This is their goal! Without evidence they’ve managed to convince large swaths of the population that every high level politician or president is a pedophile. Not just corrupt, not just dishonest or disloyal, but someone who has sex with children. And what do you know? Obviously we have an issue with immunity in the ruling class and that’s not our fault. I’m just saying that if we want to have any chance of holding the actual pedophiles accountable then we need to be more interested in facts and not vague hand wavey accusations. Pedophile shouldn’t be some word you just throw around, it has a real meaning that matters.
