My rule of thumb is that if I don’t know a single thing about an election or referendum, I don’t vote in it. If should be that simple yet a lot of mfers will go vote for some random person in a nonpartisan race based off vibes of their names

I guess I’d rather you not vote than vote uninformed however I think it’s a massive issue the average person can’t be informed about a majority of voting matters

Why would you choose to be uneducated on the political climate of your community, this isn’t some enlightened take you’re just actively choosing to ignore things that can and probably will affect you

No one said it’s an enlightened take, nor am I saying it’s good to be uninformed on something lmao. If you don’t know something, though, why vote on it?

I just mean like what is stopping you from doing at least a little bit of research on any given election, you could even just look stuff up on your phone at the voting center while filling out the ballot, I’m not saying you need to be an expert I just mean it’s literally always gonna be in your own best interest to know what’s going on around you since as I said these things can actually impact you

“Look up on your phone” to what extent? What would make one sufficiently informed, especially when there’s misinformation, biased media, etc… that one will stumble upon? This is a matter of if one were to vote in a more immediate timeframe. Yes do research if there’s time, yet if you’re coming to the box with no info, why mark that part of that ballot?

Also, yeah, they can impact you, yet also aimlessly voting for stuff can impact you lmao, a lot of people did that here in Georgia a few months ago for some pretty important elections, sooo…
