History teaches that it was spanish explorers who introduced horses to the americas in the 15th and 16th centuries

It’s truly incredible how rapidly the cultures of the plains were completely transformed by the introduction of horses. Before, they tended to be walled, semi-sedentary villages along rivers. Then suddenly the horses changed everything. Horses became so integral to their cultures that some native communities deny that they ever lacked horses at all.
