We’re WAY past the need of a $15 minimum wage. Inflation and wage stagnation has hit us so hard I argue a $35-$40 minimum wage is the new liveable wage in this country. Universal healthcare would also offset our exorbitant healthcare costs.

The idea of a federal minimum wage is absolutely stupid. Requiring businesses in Arkansas and Mississippi to pay unskilled labor $40/hr is akin to requiring restaurants to keep their Ribeye Steaks under $5 per plate.

No labor is unskilled except for maybe HR

In economic terms “unskilled labor” doesn’t refer to jobs that require literally zero skill, but rather positions that are easily substitutable. Work that almost everyone can learn how to perform at a proficient level in a few weeks.
