That is a risk you accept when you visit Yellowstone. You are a guest in an area with dangerous megafauna. Caution is required and risk is inherent. People keep going to Yellowstone knowing the risk, so clearly having bison is worth it.

Bison are a symbol of America. They have fed native peoples for thousands of years. Theodore Roosevelt himself helped co-found the American Bison Society. To quote Roosevelt himself “We owe it to future generations to keep alive the noble and beautiful creatures which by their presence add such distinctive character to the American wilderness.”
