I wanna cry 😭 at one point my doctor didn’t wanna check T levels bc he said Spiro just blocks the effects of T w/o lowering it, and that is not aligned w/ what I’ve heard online. I tried switching docs too but that didn’t work out

Just switched to injections last month 5mg/week EV, but still waiting to get levels checked again. I’m freaking out bc the last check T was sooo high for being on HRT for like half a year, and I had to beg to get an increased dose

5mg/wk is still kinda low if you’re on monotherapy since you’ll trough ~150pg/mL. you could always just inject every 5 days at 5mg or just raise ur dose to 8mg/wk if u wanted to be sure your testosterone is fully suppressed

an unsuppressed T level can lead to masculinization…

There’s also physiological dysphoria, having higher T can cause a number of mental health issues in trans women

Like other than just plain dysphoria? I haven’t heard much about actual just plain psychological symptoms

General like feeling very heavy and sluggish, leading to depressive symptoms. Pre hrt I couldn’t really take initiative at work or care very much but by 6 months on I was like rock on able to take initiative all the time and just function. Largely I think because my hormones got to cis woman ranges

I would def try to find a new doctor cause your doctor just not caring about your T levels is no good :( I’m sorry you’re dealing with this babes😔 Maybe try looking online to see which doctors near you have good reviews? Possibly switching clinics or maybe even entire hospital systems might help? Worse comes to worse you can just do DIY and only go in to the doctor to get your levels checked.

Huh that’s interesting. God I’d love to read primary sources about that cause idk if I experienced something similar or not. I mean I feel better than before now but idk if it was cause of chemicals in my brain or just my circumstances getting better.

im on spiro 100mg x2 daily (and estradiol 4mg x2), and my T level went from 285 to 13 after a year. maybe you need a higher dose, or a different medication?
