got on the waitlist for a local clinic where the appointments are booked till oct/nov. will be trying planned parenthood in the meantime…

Do you have an insurance card? Because of hipaa they cannot tell your mother you’re starting hrt/trans as long as you are over 18. Just saying. I was on hrt for 6 months before I told my mom

saw someone mention this but definitely call and ask for an estimate! the clinic will be able to tell you if they’re in network/what it should cost.

yea i have a card but idk if theyre in network. my moms insurance is for educators and theres not a ton of info i can find online (its not an hmo or ppo) + i think i have to get a referral

Hmmmmm best to get on that. You prolly don’t need her say so though. If you have the card you should call member services (number on the back) to ask about coverage

their websites can be helpful too. PP is generally 20-30 dollars for copay under many plans
