Like I want a slight voice change without straining my voice and some fat redistribution, but I don’t want to get a bunch of hair I can’t get rid of or bottom growth or balding yk

fin for the balding but otherwise yeah I completely relate 😭 i wish you could take blockers without the hormones because that would be my ideal

I’m hoping someday there will be some crazy advancements in medicine to let people have more “customizable” transitions, would be so cool

all of those effects (body hair growth, bottom growth, male pattern balding) are caused by DHT. you can take t with a DHT blocker (ex. finasteride) and it will reduce/stop those effects. voice drop and fat redistribution are caused by t, not dht, and aren’t effected by fin.

absolutely! t + fin doesn’t get talked about a lot for trans people because of the side effects/what it suppresses, so most opt for minoxidil for hairline protection. if you start t and a dht blocker at the same time it will stunt/stop/reduce bottom growth (but also, genetics etc your mileage will vary). it will also be harder to figure out what an effective t dose is for you. also be mindful that stacking a DHT blocker with t means that t alone will not stop your period.

Electrolysis for (genuinely permanent) hair removal is also an option as well!
