We need a degrading phrase for Terfs. They get too much respect for livestock that obsesses over my genitalia.

… “livestock”? like uh, animals kept for the sole purpose of harvesting bodily materials from? I’m pretty viscerally anti-terf too obviously, but this is a really bizarre word choice

i think terf is already that degrading name

The issue with this term is it isnt degraiding enough. I genuinely do not see terfs as human beings tbh.

Terf is a mild name. We need to coin something with hate

I mean you could have called them subhuman without the implications attached to “livestock”

I dont think any word choice is too far tbh. I mean like the only thing I see bad abt using livestock is that its insulting to live stock animals

call me a woke antifa special snowflake or whatever if you want but I think it’s alarming to refer to literally any group of people by a term which implies they should be slaughtered and eaten or kept in stables for breeding, especially given that slavery (i.e. literally holding other humans captive as livestock) is still recent history

“punch terfs” / “bash back” is a totally fair response to a category of disingenuous predatory bigots, but doubling down on the “livestock” thing in particular is more than a little deranged

terfs interpret it as hateful and i think that's what matters

I mean when livestocks make it their whole thing to make my life a living hell, I cant help but to hate them with a burning passion.

Its just hard not to have my outlook when they see me the way they do. I really wish I could co-exist with them.

I will say though I find it rather wild to be defending a hate group from deserved hatred. Nazis kkk terfs etc get hate bc they spread it to the undeserving.

I’ve expressed repeatedly that feeling intense hatred towards terfs is perfectly justified, and I’ve repeatedly explained how the word you keep doubling down on comes with baked-in implications that go beyond just hatred and cross over into like, fantasies of industrialized fascism. you aren’t engaging at all with what I’m saying

I’m not defending them, you’re going out of your way to misinterpret me at this point. it’s like how if you had said “we should build concentration camps for pedophiles”, even people who want pedophiles excised from society entirely would have reason to feel a bit uneasy because the language of “concentration camps” is obviously politically-loaded and carries specific implications far beyond just “I loathe these bastards with a passion and want them to pay for the harm they cause”

Okay i see now. Its just all I want is to live in a world where I can just be myself. Without any of this unnecessary hatred.

of course, I want that for you too! I want that for all of us. I doubt anyone in this group has a single kind word to say about terfs, all of us are tangibly harmed by their shit in real time

I don’t even disagree that we need a harsher name for them than “terf”, because letting them get away with calling themselves any kind of “feminist” is backwards as fuck

Yea. Its just counter productive. I couldnt bring myself to associate with that label for the longest time bc of them

genuinely feels like some 1984-ass “doublespeak” for a contingent of rabid misogynists to take up so much space under the banner of feminism! the way they aren’t even subtle about cozying up to right-wing groups in the name of throwing other women under the bus…

idk i think even calling other people subhuman is kind of politically loaded, why is it always implied that bad people aren't human? that being a bad person makes you less than human? to me that whole concept feels viscerally disgusting and i don't think it has any place in a just society. obviously i think terfs are fucked but it grosses me out to call anybody subhuman

Anonymous replying to -> #5 2w

like to me part of what makes us human is the fact that we are all capable of atrocity. calling people subhuman for being shitty people creates a false distinction between you and the capacity for bad actions, and historically has been used to justify horrific things. it is also so intertwined with the concept of slavery, i think thats part of what makes me so uncomfortable with it

Anonymous replying to -> #5 2w

but honestly calling someone livestock specifically has even more of an association with the idea of slavery than just calling someone subhuman. i don't really understand why people have such an instinct to imply ownership and domination in the context of criticizing bad actions. it feels like a relic of war

that’s fair. I feel like me & OP ultimately came to an understanding, so I’m not trying to drag this out or anything, but in the moment I just reached for “subhuman” as an alternative because I wanted to drive home that there was other vocabulary options available for similarly degrading vile bigots without implying they should be killed and eaten / kept for breeding etc. but yeah, not a good pick for the point I was trying to make, you’re def right that that’s also politically-loaded language
