am i not taking this seriously enough or has there been a bit of fear mongering recently? like i recognize there’s danger, and having a worst case scenario plan isn’t the worst idea, but all this “we’re about to be genocided” “move out now”…

I’d say it’s a personal decision and each of us has to make the call. Those of us that have multiple fronts being actively attacked might read the danger level one way, whereas those that do carry some privileges will read things differently. There are some basics that all of us should have together like documents and passports, because those cannot be gathered in short order. Having some general idea of a researched plan is also not a bad idea for us. Know your safe people etc.

So far, all the “extreme worst scenarios” have come true; discrimination of trans people, segregation by sex, criminalization of medicine and defunding of sources. We’re following the same steps seen with the Holocaust

While I get what you mean- by the time we absolutely have to leave we’ll be unable to. These people are being proactive because we are on a crash course-

thing feels like people are reading an extreme worst possible scenario. like the US government has targeted minority groups with this rhetoric in the past. even with immigrants though, they at least have the premise of arresting them under illegally immigrating here, but they generally do release the people that are full US citizen. the administration also has generally stopped when the courts have blocked them.

jailing all transgender just for being transgender doesn’t really seem like something even the conservative supreme court would uphold, and i know there was the recent fbi report, but of you read it (or the breakdown of it by erin in the morning) they mention this proposal wouldn’t label all trans people as domestic terrorists, its main use would be when charging trans people with crimes or using it to justify increased surveillance on trans rights leaders

but it seems like they don’t intend to use it in a way to justify jailing all trans people, (and even if they try there’s the real question of if it’d hold up). like i’m not saying don’t worry about anything, but is the “find asylum or it’s over for you” idea a couple big leaps forward in what the situation is now?

Do I think it’s time to leave? No. Not yet. Am I scared and aware I’m most likely going to get stuck here if/when the worse happens. Yes.
