As a trans/nonbinary, I deserve to protect myself for self defense. I live in a progressive city but I’m still harassed by transphobic idiots. Especially if you are BIPOC or BIPOC passing, people suck here. I fully support arming trans ppl.

for this reason, i am pro 2A. i also advocate for stricter gun control regulations, but if there are more guns than people, you bet your ass i’m buying a glock lol

I did not mean to write the letter “a.” Yikes typo was cringey sorry I was mildly activated when I wrote this.

I support it I just don’t see how it’d help me personally cause I’m more scared of going to prison tbh. Esp cause I’m in a duty to retreat state.

I am 110% in support of stricter gun control laws, at the same time as an African American I believe that people who approach the argument of the second amendment with no nuance are clearly people who do not understand the history of racial minorities in America. Many gun control laws only started to exist once black people started to arm themselves in response to racial violence. We have to keep people safe from gun violence, but we have to do it with intentionality and nuance.

That makes sense. That’s something I have thought a lot about too. For me, I would mostly use my gun as a scare tactic unless I knew someone was actively about to kill me, and that’s then I would use it

You also want to be careful doing this, a gun can deescalate a situation, but it can also escalate a situation. If you’re pulling your gun out don’t let it be a bluff, you have to be actually willing to pull the trigger should the situation go that way

This is why I have pepper spray instead cause 1. Not nearly as much of a legal issue. I just bought the thing off amazon ffs. 2. I’d be WAY more willing to actually use it and 3. Way cheaper 4. Not nearly as much practice needed. Like by a lot. This thing was ten bucks and easy to use but a gun + the classes and license is probs over 1000

I know. I’m smart about it.

I have been in situations where pepper spray wasn’t effective for me. That’s why I am armed. I am trained and I use it wisely.

Yeah I’m very smart and safe for how I protect myself but this is necessary for some of us unfortunately
