Binary trans people PLEASE take nonbinary trans people seriously! My gf is on T and has told their friends (many who are trans) that they use they/them and have done so for YEARS and yet they’re getting he/him still after having these discussions.

I told some of these people I prefer they/them or he/him but am technically ok with she/her, and they continue to refer to me as a woman unless they’re paying close attention, and only use she/her for me. At the same they say I’m a trans man egg. When I’ve acted uncomfortable and clarified my identity, they laugh it off. It’s extra hurtful to receive this treatment from other trans people.

i’m sure their gf is perfectly fine with being referred to as their gf, otherwise they wouldn’t refer to them as such

There isn’t some “should be” label for everyone. It really just depends on what the nb person wants, this is probably a conversation they already had.
