genuine question because my boyfriend and i were talking about it, do you refer to you as a child by the gender you identify with now or your sex at birth?

It’s gonna vary per person. I usually use they because I looked so masculine pre transition. Some use our gender. Youll find there’s a few schools of thought including: “I was always a girl I just thought I was a boy” Or “I was a boy and now I’m a girl” It’s not really universal, we all have different relationships with our transness

Refer to myself as my gender unless my former gender is relevant to the story. Which is rare bc for the most part I don’t really reflect on the past

depends on who i'm talking to and if my percieved gender is relevant to the story tbh

Don’t think I’ve ever talked about my past self in the third person

totally makes sense, i guess i was definitely just thinking of it on a sillier level 🙃 though, i do tend to refer to little me as a girl, im ftm. mainly just from the sense of my parents (and sisters) raising me as a girl up until i came out, or at least was autonomous enough to understand myself
