I think they will. I've been on E for almost 3 years now, and my mom has just started to refer to me as "she" so yes it takes a while for parents to come around sometimes, but they'll come around eventually

coin toss, but in my experience it’s not worth holding breath for. find people who love you for you and be with them, your real family, instead of people who thinking birthing you gives them entitlement over your life. you could spend the rest of your life waiting for them to come around one day and that’s no way to live, they don’t deserve you putting that much energy into them.
