I think it could help to ask him to clarify what he meant here, if only it makes him realize that was kind of a fucked up thing to say

I don’t think he meant it in a harmful way, but I can’t help but feel a little hurt by it. I just don’t think he understands the turmoils of being trans. he said he could tell by my name (which is pretty androgynous) I’m just so confused ☹️

or are closer than you think? if two people found it funny then that’s the only explanation I can think of, unless you happen to be friends with two really mean people

I really don’t pass, I’ve never had someone assume I’m a guy. I just started texting this guy maybe a week ago, but I’ve been close with the friend I talked to for years
