Is passing physically as important as people make it out to be? I’ve been voice training (mtf) and I think I’m making good progress but I’ve gotta wait for HRT so like is it a lost cause??

it’s never a lost cause, HRT will work no matter what age you start

Passing is as important as you want it to be. Depends on your own goals. I mean it does come with added safety and euphoria from people gendering you correctly without asking but like it’s not a requirement.

I mean what’s important in your transition is entirely up to you. Unless we’re talking about safety wise or something like that?

there are ways to pass physically pre-hrt, breast forms/tucking/styling/make up/etc, but hrt definitely makes it easier

Hair also affects a lot. I’ve noticed that the longer my hair gets the more euphoric I am even though I don’t think my face has changed proportionally to how much better I feel. Like I’m on E it HAS changed but like not by as much as my mood improvements indicate yk. Also shaving body hair also probably helps. Personally I just haven’t cared about that much yet lol
