I’ll definitely be looking into Plume because of everyone’s recommendations, thank you all so much!
Where did you go to begin your transition? I’ve really been debating wanting to start estrogen but I would have no clue where to begin

yeah, plume and folx are expensive subscription insurances. often planned parenthood or local free/low-income clinics are cheaper, but if there’s an accessibility issue then they can be an option before pursuing DIY.

Even then… If the option ur normally looking at is almost $1k a year DIY is already like an objectively better option by far (as long as mtf (still not a bad option if ur FTM just requires a couple more connections))

for starting out some people feel more comfortable being able get labs and dosing info from medical professionals, but yeah, totally agree DIY can be a better option than subscription services. definitely depends on a persons situation. ime planned parenthood made it absurdly easy to start and was extremely cheap w/ insurance.

Honestly medical professionals are a scam for HRT They are just as qualified for dealing with transitioning as me since literally none of it is taught to them and the idea that they are needed or at all qualified is just an anti diy propaganda campaign

i mean, in most cases yeah i won’t disagree but being able to get labs is extremely helpful. average random physician? yeah community knowledge and ability to read care guidelines will be better, but there are trans competent providers who can make actual informed suggestions regarding hrt regime/method/dosing specific to someone’s medical situation and desired outcome.
