Anyone experience female pattern baldness after being on E for a few years? I never lost my hair before transition but now it’s thin as hell

Uhhh talk to your doctor about it. Get your levels checked cause that should not be happening. What doses of your hrt meds are you on? Have they changed recently? How old are you?

I’m 25, been transitioned medically for 6 years (E monotherapy injections entire time, recently swapped to patches within the last 2-3 months), hair started thinning around year 3 and hasn’t stopped since, my levels are pretty normal most of the time (and I’m on a very low dose of E bc my body responds well to it), orchi about 1-2 years ago, been on minoxidil for about 3 months now to try to finally fix it.

When was the last time you had a blood test done? I’d be concerned one thing or the other is too high or too low

I only get them every 6 months now so it’s been a minute, so I guess I’ll try to get that done soon It’s just weird because I have 0 ability to produce testosterone anymore, my E is usually fine (it used to be freakishly high), and the hair loss came out of nowhere

Negligible last I checked (had a bilateral orchiectomy, so I have no way of producing any anyway), but it’s been that way ever since I started E

Well yeah but when you say negligible what’s the number/unit? Cause I have friends who’s T went too low and it screwed them, one even got osteoporosis. She didn’t know she had it until her leg snapped under her own weight while sitting in a chair. Below a certain number low T doesn’t mean more woman, it means more at risk for health complications. I’m not sure what’s causing your hair loss but I’d be worried something is out of whack. At this age you should still have thick hair

Is female pattern baldness common for women in your family at this age? You’re still considered in your youth, mid twenties is not a normal age to be experiencing reduced hair growth. Something isn’t right here. Bring it up with your doctor asap

For context, I’m still steadily gaining hair growth 1.5 years on E, 22 yrs old. My girlfriend, 27, has a thick head of hair. All of my friends around your age or older have thick heads of hair. Female pattern baldness has never been mentioned once in my entire time knowing other trans women
