The year is 2080. You're filling out an application for insurance coverage of an amazonbasics skater skirt. Question one asks for your preferred name and pronouns, then asks you for your given name and biological gender. You fill out the rest of the form, but there's a problem. You need a letter of recommendation from a board certified gender "professional" for coverage of your skirt, at least 2 years of hormone therapy, and a consultation from a professional.

tbh people should just get like... free clothing in general. like designer clothing still costs money but basic clothing for every day wear? shouldn't cost money

if cis people want to use gender affirming clothing then they can use gender-affirming clothing. and everyone should have access to clothing since it’s a basic necessity, even if that access is given through means other than making it free

Yeah I mean honestly clothing in general should be provided to everyone cause like... it's a basic societal expectation and you can be arrested for not wearing it and it's kinda necessary for survival in certain weather. but like... idk building a whole new closet for transitioning is expensive and time consuming and it would be great if it could be a little bit easier

There’s lots of things that are expensive and time consuming but that doesn’t mean we’re entitled to have it done for us, especially when it’s as basic as buying a pack of boxers (not medically necessary) from Walmart. And the post wasn’t talking about having basic clothing necessary for surviving and living in society, that’s a separate issue, the post says that trans people should get free bras and boxers, presumably just because it makes us feel better (not a valid reason to deserve handouts)
