Was looking to get a new binder and noticed spectrum’s site was down a couple weeks ago. Now it is updated with this message upon opening the site, and the binders have been renamed as “vests”. Wtf??

Trump recently put restrictions on binders. Theyre probably trying to stay under the radar

The FDA now categorizes binders as medial devices as and such there are a bunch of new obstacles that binder companies have to navigate if they don’t want to get shut down. Spectrum is trying to avoid all of that.

when i got mine a year or so ago, they shipped them to the US as "vests" so it's not an entirely new thing, but they were sold as binders on the website then

Yep. They were all sent warning letters from the FDA a while back threatening “regulatory action” if they didn’t register their binders as medical devices.
