any trans guys hate the term “tboy”? it sounds a) infantalizing with the ‘boy’ and b) more ‘othering’ as it sounds as a different catagory than boy. like ‘trans’ is an adjective in trans men but ‘tboy’ is just a noun

I don’t like it either, I’ve never called myself a tboy. Obviously won’t police what other people call themselves but when people over the age of 20 call themselves tboys it makes me raise an eyebrow….

i don't really care. if someone's being an asshole it'll usually come with other stuff

I never really thought about it in that sexond way, though I def agree with the first. I do say “tguy” to mean “trans guy” as opposed to “guy,” and I don’t consider that othering since the “t” is pronounced as its own word in my head (“tee guy”), if that makes sense

Rn I enjoy it considering I’m young, but I agree with the other ppl here, esp since after a certain point it will 1000% just be infantalizing

i.e. “transman” feels othering for the reasons you said, “tguy”/“tboy” feel less so since the “t” itself is an adjective. if you want to say t-guy or t guy instead then I’d understand that tho
