I really don’t understand why we don’t have trans/nonbinary specific student housing. It’s needed even here in Portland OR. I woke up to my last roommate who was a cis male attempting to SA me when I was sleeping and he said queer phobic things constantly
my school has a pride hall, but it's literally just one side of one floor in one building, and the system is like a random drawing to see who gets to live there. they're trying, but failing 😭

Yeah that was 8 months ago. Fortunately I finally live with other trans people. My housing manager immediately let me move out to a new unit when I reported this to them without making me pay more

ok I was so worried 😭 I’m glad you’re in a safer place now but yeah, the lack of queer housing makes dorms so unsafe for many of us

I’m just so surprised in this day and age that there’s still not really an option for us. College would feel much safer imo

Dang. My school has a Queer Resource Center and the Women’s Resource Center is run by a trans woman which is awesome, but trans/nonbinary specific dorms would feel less stressful and safer
