So I’m a trans artist and I’d like to post something specifically for pride month for the first time, but it feels weirdly performative? I’m already exploring my own gender in my art and I’m constantly drawing trans people, though it’s not always obvious-

-and I don’t specifically call it out in the caption or comments of my posts. It feels like, for me, drawing something blatantly about queer people during pride month is disingenuous. Idk, I think maybe I’ll post something explicitly queer in July. I don’t like the thought of giving the message that I only care about other queer people for one month

No the issue is I don’t have anything specifically drawn yet lol, but thank you. I do have a sketch I was working on a while ago that I thought would work for this if I fully finished it, but then I got in my head about it while trying to further develop it just now

I feel like you’re equating your genuine want to show off your pride to corporate companies who try to profit off their ‘support’ of us every year. That thinking’s just unfair to you

That’s a fair point. I’ll try to chip at it a little more so I can post something I feel good about❤️
