i mean for me personally if i dont have like a reason to b smiling in th moment i dont feel the need to project that yk like its a lot more energy than its worth to always be sunshine and rainbows, at least for me lol

Ngl im sick of always being smiley and happy when i’m closeted so whenever i have the chance, it feels so good to drop the act and just be neutral

lots of trans men were expected to smile more/look happy pre-transition so many are probs happier with a neutral face

Ok yeah that’s valid- I’ve just noticed that I’ve seen trans women smiling more than trans men and I’m confused bc I’m like aren’t you happy to be living the way you want to? Idk it’s not super deep.

tbf is it not a gender norm for women to have more outward shoes of expression than men? imo people going either way are just happy to express their happiness in a way that matches their gender. for some people it means keeping that happiness to themselves

Yeah I did think of how trans men might not smile as much because of the expectation that women/people socialized as women smile more. Could make them more likely to do the opposite? I just hope they’re all happy how they are. :)
