When I fist came out to my girlfriend (at the time friend) as trans, she thought I meant that I was mtf 😭 I’m ftm 😭😭😭

i feel like this is much more common for trans men because because so much of the constant hate campaigning and targeting is on trans women. it ends up where people hear “trans woman” and think “man who thinks he’s a *woman*” and then they hear “trans man” and think “*man* who thinks he’s a woman”. it’s great i fucking hate it!! :)

I get it a lot… I’m almost a year and a half on hrt so a good portion of skin softening and fat redistribution has happened but facial hair removal is an ongoing body horror nightmare. Sometimes younger woke-coded people will be very enthusiastic about calling me sir and I’m like 😭

Yeah I’m nonbinary (afab) and have had ppl assume I’m mtf. Irl and online, most of the time it’s derogatory BUT either way I take it as a compliment bc i like to think it means my androgyny is working
