just hit 45x1 for muscle ups and have been debating the idea that i might want to talk to a doctor about estrogen but worried about losing that strength or not progressing as much :/

it could slow it down for sure or you'd maybe lose strength, but since you're starting from such a high point and you presumably intend to keep working out, i wouldn't say it'll kill it. my personal trainer is jacked as shit and she's a woman. you may find certain activities or recovery easier, even, although that's a lot more speculative

You’ll loose strength, but also you can still gain muscle. Just it’ll be the physique of a buff woman rather than a buff guy. So yes you’ll be weaker, but it doesn’t mean you can’t still work towards getting ripped. You’ll just be ripped in a different way

look at it this way: would you rather be stronger as a guy but miserable bc you’re not on estrogen, or be a little less stronger but feel a lot better bc you’re on the right hormone? (and again, you can still be a buff woman. estrogen doesn’t turn you into someone permanently built like a twig)

Sorry I’m rambling a bit but one last note I promise 😭 Yes it will be a bit harder to progress in gaining muscle BUT the benefit is that estrogen makes it so it takes longer to loose that muscle you built up. Your metabolism is much slower on E, and while there are disadvantages to that, the advantage is that it’s much easier to maintain stuff long term. So if you skip a few days of gym because you’re sick or something, you are proportionally going to loose less then you would off of E

i mean i’m not built anyways im 120 5’8 i don’t look like a work out anyways and that was never the goal. it was more to feel and look fem but be strong as shit. i feel like i might just need to think about this more though.

you could also try a different activity for working out? jogging or idk parkour or crossfit, just like, a new challenge so you're not focusing on what you're expecting based on what you've been able to do in the past.
