Say it with me! Trans men are not all SA victims, not all AFAB SA victims want to be trans men. And for us trans men who are unfortunately victims too, we did not transition because of our experience(s). Two things can be true and co-exist.

literally one of the first things my mom asked me was if i transitioned cause of this little grooming/stalking incident that happened when i was in middle school 💀 like girl that lasted less than a week and NO THATS NOT WHY IM TRANS

In my experience as well as other transmasc folks ik, yeah. I had and still have people who find out I’m trans and the first question is “what happened to you as a kid”, “did someone touch you growing up” stupid questions like that. I’m happy you don’t have that experience tho, it’s exhausting and it deadass hindered my transition journey for the longest

Ik it’s fucking wild how people ask those insane questions with their whole chest like it’s a fact 🫩. I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say it’s based on the assumption that trans men couldn’t defend themselves pre-transition so they had to transition in order to do so, which is braindead asf.
