To be clear I do not support this change in the terms of service at all and think it’s a clear and deliberate invasion of privacy but if you’re someone who does still intend on using the app please at least do the following 1. Go to you settings 2.scroll down to ads 3.turn off both targeted ads settings in the manage app data section and request to delete your already collected data With these off they cannot legally collect your data even on these factors

Turning off this type of stuff unfortunately won’t stop them. The CIA still worked with Niantic (pokemon go) for data collection purposes. It’s the same here, it’s all evil. The best thing you can do is delete the app and any potential data your device still stores from the app

If this is your worry, then really no social media are safe and no part of the internet as all the major forces have made backdoor deals and are actively involved in selling data to the US government. The reason they were so scared of TikTok was because US companies and, in turn, the US Government weren’t the ones getting this kind of data in the first place. To me, it’s fairly obvious that this language was only explicitly used here as a scare tactic and yet another distraction from things like

The Epstein files. This thing was all or orchestrated by the Trump administration since they ended up getting to oversee it. They are desperate to bury so many things, so they’re not afraid to be explicit with absurdly crazy language to scare and distract. That’s their main strategy. In reality, this doesn’t make TikTok uniquely bad. This makes TikTok just like all the other disgusting forces behind the internet. This time, they’re just being made out to be the bad guy as a fascist tool.
