I need some advice on how to bear being in a dress because I’m so sick of my family being all mad when I don’t wanna wear a dress and they want me to and I just- I can’t deal with this shit

Trust me I’m not one to want to force myself in an uncomfortable situation but it’s complicated slightly. It’s for a formal thing that requires either ball gowns or a specific kind of tux that I cannot afford, and my family is begging me to go to this thing. I think my parents are gonna pay for me to get the tux but I’m not sure. I’m just used to being able to suck it up and deal because I’m not out anyways and it would be so much easier which is why I posted this. No one should have to do this

if you dont wanna wear a dress dont wear one. try and talk to them about why youre uncomfortable in one. they have to accept you for who you are changing yourself for them isnt worth it in the long run. down the line they’ll push you more and more and honestly you deserve to be love and accepted

well if your parents are willing to buy you a tux thats a good start it seems they maybe trying to accommodate you id say wear it if your comfortable with it you dont have to come out if your not ready for it but maybe try and explain to them in your own way why you’d be more happier in a tux and that you’d be willing to go to this thing if they let you wear it also try and talk to them about why they wouldnt want you to wear it
