I completely agree. Genital preferences aren’t transphobic- it is ASSUMING what genitals people have that is!
I see people say “oh I’m not attracted to trans people/am only attracted to cis women” and I don’t get it. if a trans person’s had bottom surgery, then it seems like diet transphobia phrased as preference to decide you don’t like them because of a label.

I quoted this because I wanted to bring that up as a separate point. I am tired of ppl being like “well it’s ok to have a preference” and then be like “That’s why I would NEVER date a trans person” NO!! Do you forget that people have bottom surgery???

Excluding all trans people is transphobic, though, which is where the GP thing falls apart. Bottom surgery exists, but if they’re still excluded after the fact, it’s transphobic.

Exactly I agree! That is what I was trying to say, but let me know if I came across as something else

You’re good! Mostly just adding my own bit to this. :)

Also there’s bi/pan people who refuse to date trans people which to me just adds to the idea that it’s about trans people’s identity and not their genitals. Like, you’re telling me you like all genitals but still won’t date trans people?

Because it’s really just transphobia at that point.
