Didn’t think this had to be said but hey! Everyone’s experiences and dysphoria and comforts are different. There is no right way of being trans, so don’t police how others should be trans because of your own/others experience 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

regardless tho yeah, everyone’s experience is different, from straightforward to messy to fluid. our own experience isnt the “right” way, and we should do better in understanding each other than the cishets do.

Both. Had a personal experience these past few weeks and went through 3-4 different threads here on trans talk and saw others policing others because “well I don’t like how you view/talk about your trans journey because I personally don’t think it’s right”

the way you think about yourself is your business, yes; however, sharing those thoughts & language can imply transphobic beliefs that can easily be applied to others. using that language without explaining why you use it can easily lead others to believe you see others the same as you see yourself.

yeah this happened to me. i was saying "male puberty ruined my body" and someone was like "would you say that to another trans woman? we need to be careful about how we talk about trans bodies" like let me be dysphoric goddamn

I remember that comment, and frankly I did see how others might think you see their bodies the same… but them immediately saying “you shouldn’t say that” without even asking for elaboration is so ick. trans people are allowed to use whatever language they want for themselves, and they shouldnt be seen as transphobic when they aren’t even given the chance to explain.
