Saw my partner’s friend over Thanksgiving and he made the joke again (he is a trans guy, my partner and I are both nonbinary). I made it VERY clear that that type of joke was absolutely not happening anymore, and I think he realized it was done.
My partner has started T recently and their best friend keeps making a “lol you’re now a straight man” joke, which my partner laughs along with and jokes about too. The problem is that I am NOT a woman, I’m non-binary. Am I overreacting by feeling icky?

I think he didn’t realize it was genuinely making me very upset (had a legitimate breakdown over it and some other things the previous time), but he does now.

Dude sounds like a colossal ass (also him making the same joke over and over again doesn’t make it funnier)

He’s generally a very kind person, this is a stand-out instance as far as I know. I’m not sure my partner communicated just how upset the joke made me originally. Also, it was the same base joke but in different formats. But yeah, dick move to keep making the joke and it certainly wasn’t funny any of the times.

Nah all good. Just hearing this little snippet about him DOES make him seem like an ass! But in general, he’s super supportive of my identity and my partner’s identity (besides this repeated off-color joke).
