everytime hrt gets restricted so many will say "you don't need hrt to be valid!". that's technically true but ignoring the actual issue. it's like saying mlk was a rapist in discussions of civil rights.

I get it mostly from trans women as a non-binary person but yeah it’s exhausting when it’s another trans people :/

Also it ignores that a lot of people NEED hrt. It’s like saying “you’re still diabetic even if you don’t have insulin” like bitch THATS A PROBLEM (not trying to say being trans is a disability, just that hrt is literally life saving medication)

Dysphoria is a mental health condition, but not necessarily a mental illness. Important to make that distinction. Mental illness implies it’s irrational behavior, but we know gender dysphoria is the result of a misalignment between perceived gender and internal gender. It’s happened to cis people who cross dress sometimes too or played gender swapped roles

and it drives me crazy that how’s they’re using ASAB language! that’s not what it means! the reason the entire distinction exists between what someone is *assigned* and their sex is because intersex and trans people may be a different sex than what they were assigned. it’s a past event! not a statement about someone’s current reality.
