Maybe, not sure if it’s exactly what you mean but I remember meeting my fiancé’s coworkers and friends for the first time and then hearing them recognize me as a guy I was like “what? no I’m a girl, wait no I am a dude never mind”

the best way I can explain it is the sort of feeling you get as you mature and have those “awakening” moments at like 18ish and 25ish — like I’ve been in a daze/autopilot for a long time and suddenly snap out of it
