so now i’m rooming with a catholic woman who for whatever reason chose a gender-inclusive dorm!
OP of this post, i promised myself i wouldn’t have to advocate for anyone but at least once a month i have to advocate for myself whether that be trans related or unrelated. this sucks i wish i wasn’t physically nor mentally ill (undiagnosed disorders)

catholic doesn’t automatically equal trans hating. hell my bestie is a trans guy and a catholic

I mean Catholicism is theologically pro trans right now so might be chill as long as she knows ball 🤷‍♀️

Best of luck, ironically the only catholics i know irl are either trans or were the most accepting people when i came out so..good luck??? none of them had any queer supportive stuff on their socials fwiw

Is it possible she is not cis? She could just appear cis, and not be willing to talk about it.

i checked her ig and there’s no signs of general lgbtq+ friendliness. so either she’s cishet and accepting or it’s the exact opposite. i used to be catholic so i know the demographic

it IS but the demographic generally isn’t. i still maintain catholic beliefs so i get said ball. but i am hoping for the best, and if i still believed in Him id pray as well 🤭

are there any signs of being anti-lgbt tho? i know catholics who are still lgbt and trans accepting so i wouldn’t be too quick to judge, especially if she explicitly chose the gender inclusive option

not particularly but i’m still kind of disheartened. just generally bad experiences outweigh the good especially during these times and i’ll admit i haven’t had the best housing experience these past few months as well

i would say it’s not a bad idea to have a back up escape plan to get out of that situation in case things are bad but also don’t necessarily go into it expecting to have to use it
